Maria Li 

Maria is a biofabrication and biomaterials researcher and educator working at the intersection of biology, design, and environmental technology. My practice explores how living systems, biological materials, and technologies can be combined to create more regenerative ways of making and interacting with our environment—from microbial fuel cells and phytoplankton-powered biobatteries to biofabrication and sustainable biocomposites. I currently work as a Specialist Technical Instructor in Biomaterials and Biofabrication at the Royal College of Art, where I support students and researchers in experimenting with biological materials, fabrication processes, and emerging technologies.
